Analyst: Holloman Is A Diamond In The Rough

The U.S. Army All-American Bowl gives recruitniks an up close look at dozens of top seniors in the country but it also gives analysts a chance to discuss prospects of all classes, in attendance or not, who may otherwise be out of region.

UGASports.com recruiting analyst Jake Reuse recently saw Covington (Ga.) Newton 2017 wide receiver Jeremiah Holloman in person at the Georgia Junior Bowl Rising Seniors practices and came away very impressed.

The 6-3, 190-pound three-star prospect committed to Michigan on Dec. 13 and it didn’t necessarily move the needle for Michigan fans, but Reuse thinks it should.

The Holloman commitment didn't make many waves but according to those who are familiar with him, he's a good get.
The Holloman commitment didn't make many waves but according to those who are familiar with him, he's a good get.

“The first thing that catches your eye is how Holloman looks,” Reuse said. “He looks like a 26-year old grown man. Facially and build-wise you can’t believe he’s a junior in high school.

“He’s very long with long arms. He’s a little thin but he definitely has the frame that can add good weight but even if he doesn’t, he already looks like he could make some noise in college.”

His build and length certainly helped him perform during the practices and Reuse noticed some obvious skills when it comes to playing wide receiver.

“He high-pointed the ball well and showed really good speed,” Reuse explained. “He was going against some top 2017 cornerbacks and did very well. The 2017 DB class in Georgia is very good and he was successful.”

Holloman is currently ranked as the No. 75 player in Georgia, but Reuse thinks he’ll climb the rankings once he gets more exposure and competes against top competition.

“Overall I came away with him being the mot impressive offensive player at the practices. He caught my eye more than anyone,” Reuse said. “I noticed that he developed a good rapport with the quarterbacks really quickly.

“I talked with him afterward and he seemed like a standup kid. He’s definitely on his grind and his grades are solid. He’s a good overall get for Michigan. He’s a diamond in the rough.”

Michigan is Holloman’s best offer and he is a solid verbal, but if Georgia throws their hat into the ring it could spell trouble for the Wolverines. For now though, he’s one of five three-stars committed to the Maize and Blue along with his high school teammate running back Kurt Taylor, Bloomfield Hills (Mich.) Brother Rice tight end Carter Dunaway, Oak Park (Mich.) offensive tackle Ja’Raymond Hall, and Montreal (Quebec) Vieux cornerback Benjamin St-Juste.
