Notable

• Also played lacrosse during his high school career.

• Was a member of the Rockford Student Council.

• Nordin missed all but four games during his senior season after breaking his collarbone during an attempted onside kick, but the talented kicker is full strength now and ready to prepare for a career at Michigan.

2016 Projection

With Kenny Allen returning for his senior year and coming off a junior season in which he made 18 of 22 field goals, Michigan does not need Nordin to come in and kick field goals. The Wolverines do need a punter, however, with the departure of Blake O'Neill, and while Nordin has a bright future as a placekicker, he has more experience as a punter and could help the Maize and Blue immediately there.

They Said It

KornblueKicking.com Director Brandon Kornblue: “One of the things that coaches love about him, especially the ones who see him in person, they see his build, his athleticism and confidence. In order to get these coaches to buy into him, it’s more than just his kicking ability. It’s the other things, the intangibles that have helped him.

“He came to our camp several years ago, probably when he was a freshman. He came back at the end of his sophomore year, and that’s when all of a sudden he made a boost in his strength. I told him he has special talent, and there are kids that I’ve seen that have that, but they don’t develop it. Over the past year, year and a half, we have been working with him and taking all the steps to get into a good spot, and he has received more offers than anyone in the country.”

Rockford head coach Ralph Munger: "It is such a very special skill — it’s like a pole vaulter. You obviously have to have some God-given talent, without question. But you have to nurture that talent and bring it along and have a knee-deep passion for what they are doing.

“Quinn has spent a lot of time working with some of the top coaches. He works with the Kornblue kicking service and a major part of his learning has come from them. The Kornblue deal is run by a former Michigan kicker and there are other services out there, but that is the one Quinn has stayed very close with. They pick up a lot of little extras from guys who understand their needs. They help them hone their skills and a higher level of execution."
