Top Schools And A Date For Fred Hansard

Michigan joined the race in Fred Hansard's recruitment back in May, and about one year later, they'll find out if they will be the winner. The four-star defensive tackle out of Princeton (N.J.) The Hun School will announce his college choice May 14.

He has also announced a top seven, including not only the Wolverines, but also Florida, Ohio State, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, and Tennessee.

The 6-4, 314-pounder made an unofficial visit to Ann Arbor for the Ohio State game Nov. 28, his first trip to campus. He also has another connection: the native of Camden, N.J. is friendly with 2016 Michigan signees Brad Hawkins Jr. and Ron Johnson, who played at Camden High while Hansard suited up for Camden Catholic.

Despite those links, Michigan (and everyone else) may be looking up at Penn State when it comes to Hansard's decision - though they have two months to race to the top for him.
